Three MPI service pathways. MPI Winter Tire Program financing is separate.
Inspection (COI), MPI Mechanical Claim Work and Rebuilt Vehicle Support are the three MPI service pathways. MPI Winter Tire Program financing is listed separately because it is not a repair pathway.
Which service matches the file?
Share the vehicle, paperwork, claim number when applicable and current file status. Staff screen vehicle class, equipment capacity and file stage before movement.
Inspection (COI)
Manitoba light vehicle safety inspection for eligible vehicles within Standard’s current station and mechanic permit classes.
- Official safety inspection lane
- Eligibility screening first
- Pass, Advisement or Fail outcome
MPI Mechanical Claim Work
Diagnosis or repair specific to the claim after the incident is reported and the applicable MPI assessment and authorization path is established.
- Open the claim with MPI first
- No Direct Repair promise
- Approved scope and documentation
Rebuilt Vehicle Support
Standard provides two services for a rebuilt vehicle file: an alignment report when the vehicle fits its equipment and a COI when the vehicle is within its inspection permit. Body Integrity certification remains with a licensed station.
- Four wheel alignment report
- Eligible Inspection (COI)
- No BIIC or structural measurement
Manitoba controls COI eligibility and standards.
Standard accepts only vehicles within its current station and mechanic permit classes.
MPI controls coverage and authorization.
Mechanical evidence and approved repairs follow the process for each file.
A Body Integrity station controls the BIIC.
Standard does not provide structural measurements, inspection or certification.
Keep the program names and approvals separate.
These answers prevent a vehicle from arriving for the wrong inspection or before the required claim authorization.
01Does Standard approve an MPI mechanical claim?
No. MPI determines coverage, assessment and authorization. Standard documents the mechanical findings and completes only the operation accepted for the file.
02Is MPI Mechanical Claim Work the same as Direct Repair?
No. Standard does not advertise a Direct Repair mechanical pathway. Report the incident to MPI first and follow its instructions before arranging diagnosis or repair related to the claim with Standard.
03Does Standard provide Body Integrity inspection or certification?
No. A licensed Body Integrity inspection station handles the structural repair plan, frame gauging, measurements and BIIC. Standard provides the four wheel alignment report when its equipment can accept the vehicle and the COI when its inspection permit applies.
04Are regular tire services inside MPI?
No. Regular paid Tires and Wheels service is a separate Standard Repair offering that is coming soon. MPI Winter Tire Program financing is also separate and is not a fourth service pathway. Only wheel or tire damage specific to a claim belongs in MPI Mechanical Claim Work.
